Well..... got my car back together YAY. Then OH NO there is a leak, a big one
After some investigation and help from my mate Petey, we figure its the water pump. I die a little inside. I start have thoughts of taking it to a mechanic to get them to swap it over, only to realise they would charge me and arm and leg to do it.
So after some research online and more talking to Petey I know how to do it. I start on Sunday morning around 10ish and have it finished at about 12.30. Not a bad effort, unfortunately I didnt have a replacement item yet as it was the weekend so will have to wait until the weekend coming to refit it all and test it again (bites nails).
So as you know Im on a little budget to get rid of some debts and I start thinking how much the new parts are going to cost me. I also decided to change the timing belt while I was doing the water pump cause it needs to come off anyway to get to the water pump. So I organise for my mum to call up toyota to get a pricing on parts on Monday, so for the rest of Sunday I chill and do nothing.
Talking to a mate online later that night and I find out that he actually works for Toyota as a mechanic and wants the part numbers and he will find out the costs he can get the parts at and call me on Monday at 12.
Monday morning my mum calls up Toyota and the parts are priced as followed:
Water Pump - 208
Timing Belt - 87
12pm rolls around and I get a call from Cameron (my mate that works at Toyota) and here are his prices:
Water Pump - 110
Timing Belt - 50
Spark plugs - 2.50 each (got him to prices these as I need them also)
Hahah so you can expect which price Im going with. So he should be bringing them down this weekend with him so I can fit them and get the car going finally, fingers crossed.
Here is a pic of me when working on the car this weekend. Kinda looks like the car is bleeding.
(Its Toyota red radiator coolant)
