Dash(ing) Update

Hey i liked the play on words there. Did a ruff drawing of what i want the centre console to look like. Here is it.

The 2 black switch in the top left hand corner controller the drive and passenger windows. The 6 red rectangles are rocker switches that will control power to.

ECU
THERMALS
START BUTTON POWER
EBC - Electronic Boost Controller
HEADLIGHTS
WINDSCREEN WIPER

The big round switch is the kill switch for cutting power from the battery to the car. The Silver Switch next to the kill switch controlls the headlight motors, allowing me to move them up and down however I want. The blue and green round items are lights, one for oil pressure and one for the alternator. The red button is the push button start, obviously it starts the car :)

Then the 2 big black items right at the bottom contain the fuses and power for the switches. It might change from this depending on how much room it all takes up, but will also try and mount the relays on there also. :) Will keep you posted.

Keeping Up to Date

Well its been a little while since I last posted and Ive been nice and busy since starting my new job. All I can say is that god I dont have to train it anymore, lol. It was definitely a killer.

Ive started playing baseball again, havent played a game just yet, but had 2 training sessions. Had a hit for the first time in over a year on Sunday just gone, and I wasnt as bad as I thought i was going to be. Had some decent line drives.

Done some work on Suzys exa over the weekend, which included changing the alternators over cause the old one was not working, and also resprayed the front bar, so its looking better. Just to get a roady for it now. Hopefully have one shortly otherwise we wont be able to register it.

Had my mate Chad down a few weekends ago after he was doing a shoot in Burleigh and he took some pics of my car. Here is one:

I hope to have a body kit and also have it painted shortly. Will get chad back down when that is done, so I can get another background picture hehe.

I have decided I want to redo my dash in the car, because it houses all the electronics of the car and at the moment its a cluster fuck, so going to be re-wiring it over the next few weekends. Will take pictures along the way. I will post a few pictures here, but all of them on my myspace once done. Here is a pic of the dash at the moment.

I will post pictures during and when finished.
Thanks
Simon

Oops I forgot to Update hehe

Hey well its my 4th day at my new job and its already the second time that Ive been left alone to look after the helpdesk. Its really good and cant wait to get in here in the mornings. The days is flying by, because there is always something to do. So no more msn, no more nissanexa.com, its just work work work work :)

I inquired about a new car last night, just on the Holden website. Its a used car, but its a dual cab, 4wd ute. Just waiting to hear back from them about the tow ratings for it. Have to make sure it can pull my car and trailer. Its 21990. So will have to see if I can afford to pay it off. This means Ill get rid of Rona the Corona. She has been a good girl to me, but its time for something new.

Will post pictures up when I get the chance. That is if I can be bothered lol.

Its sooooo good not to have to catch the train anymore. Get to sleep in and Im home before I usually catch the train. So glad I got this job. Im going to do everything to make sure that I keep it. Im looking in the finishing my CCNA, which will give me a huge edge at this company. Ive already completed half the readings and tests for it, just another 2 books to go. Which is like another 30 mini exams and 2 major exams and 1 ultra mega hard dont want to fail cause it costs too much to re-due exam lol. But Ill get there.

Well talk to you later.

Well today I went to my first Fire - Im a Rural Fire Fighter with Guanba Rural Fire Brigade. Anyone that lives in Qld would of heard about the Fires on Mt Tamborine. Well I went out to help today with mop up, which is mainly checking the boundries and putting out any smoking embers.

Was a good day, and great learning experience. Here are some pictures that I took of the day.

I think its called NEGLECT?

Now I cant be sure that I spelt NEGLECT correctly. But in reality I dont think it matters cause no one reads this anyway hahaha. I think this has become more a place where I can write down whats in my head and has happened in my life so maybe some day in the future when everything turns to shit (if it does) I can look back and pin point the exact moment it all started. hehe
So since my last update which is almost a month ago I had some fun, spend lots of money and not had any regrets in doing so.
Where to start. Ive been to the track drifting twice now. Both times having my time cut short on track due to issues with the car. First time wheel nuts, second time split wastegate pipe. Here is are 2 pics from my first time out. Notice my shitting paint job

Now you know how in things you do in your life you build it up to be such a greatly awesome (yes i did mean that) event that usually when it happens it doesn't live up to those expectations. Well let me tell you, being on track sliding in a car that I have personally built from scratch was better and more fun than I could have ever hoped. Kinda like the same feeling when I first jumped out of a plane.
It was soooooo good i almost didn't want to come in to pits when i had to change tyres. The next event I went to was a night event on a Friday night. This was fun cause i was drifting again, but then also shit because every man and his dog was there lol. Here is on pic that was taken on that night. As you can see the paint is REALLY REALLY bad. lol

HOT ISN'T IT :P

Well now there is about a months break until the next drift day so there are going to be some lil changed to the car, mainly where the exhaust is going to run, because after getting it up on the hoist the other weekend its battered and scratched to the shit house mainly because of where it is and because of trailers. I'm also going to look into getting my own trailer made or purchase one, because the last 2 times i've borrowed a trailer I had 2 different problems.

Problem 1 on first trailer: Because the trailer didn't tilt the exhaust got stuck in 2 places and cause not only for a clamp to break but also for me to get stuck on the trailer and make it a shit to get on.

Problem2 on second trailer: It was too skinny causing me to FUCK up my front rims. So now they have nice scratch marks around the entire rims. :( Not happy.

So i need to get a trailer to is perfect for my needs. Unfortunately a trailer = $4000g max so its time to get some sort of sponsorship for that and that is how we move onto the next thing I would like to talk about.

SPONSORSHIP

Suzy was at work at BCF (temporary as she finishes her law degree) and a customer comes up to the counter to purchase something (Boating, Camping or Fishing stuff i presume) and he was wearing a Pedders jumper and the following conversation followed.
Suzy: (Noticing the Pedders jumper) Oh you work for Pedders
Pedders Fella: Well kinda I own Pedders
Suzy: Oh true, that will be $1045.65 please
Pedders Owner: (Opens wallet with about 6g worth of $100s in it) Here you are
Suzy: (This is why I love her) My boyfriend just finished building his car for drifting after a year.
Pedders Owner: Cool
Suzy: Yeah, he has been trying to get sponsorship with different companies to help cover certain costs, but the problem is most places dont even have the decency to even write back.
Pedders Owner: Well get him to send a proposal into me and Ill definitely get back to him.
Suzy: Will do, bye.
So as you can see that is why I love Suzy, she is always looking after me. So now I have to update my proposal with new pictures and also pictures of me sliding the car.
Well I better leave it at that considering this update is fairly long, but hope that brings you up to date with whats been happening.
